A Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Dr. Welch began her study of Ayurveda in 1987, under the tutelage of Dr. Robert Svoboda. Prior to coming to New Mexico, Claudia spent three years in India studying Ayurveda and related subjects, and many years in New Mexico, studying and working at Dr. Vasant Lad’s Ayurvedic Institute.
Dr. Welch’s interest in Vedic studies also led her to complete the Advanced Jyotish Course taught by Hart De Fouw. She is currently a member of the teaching faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute and the Kripalu School of Ayurveda in Lenox, Massachusetts. Additionally, Dr. Welch is a faculty lecturer with Acupractice Seminars. She was also a member of the teaching faculty at Southwest Acupuncture College in New Mexico from 1998-2005, where she obtained her degree in Oriental medicine in 1997.
Dr. Welch writes and lectures on Ayurvedic and Traditional Chinese Medicine internationally, where she seeks to honor the outstanding teachers she has had the privilege to study with, through sharing the joy of Ayurveda (and anything else that comes to mind) with her students.
